Picture of the month
Each month I shall be focusing on one painting, with a short explanation of what that painting means to me.
JANUARY 2012
THE OLD GIT ON THE ROOF – 2008

Like many of my paintings, this one expresses an inner call for help to the indefinable ONE. Sometimes something happens that makes us aware of that inner cry. Sometimes something shows us how close we are to mortality, and we say , “I’m lucky to be alive!” That, really is the bottom line. We are lucky to be alive! Left to ourselves we would not remember to take the next breath, or make our heart take the next beat, yet that indefinable Something is already doing it for us. The cry perhaps should not so much be “help!” but “THANK YOU!”
