Picture of the month
January 1, 2012
Each month I shall be focusing on one painting, with a short explanation of what that painting means to me.

CASTLE CRAG – 1993
I was walking near Castle Crag in the Lake District one day when I noticed a small rock that had recently been broken in half. The two pieces fitted neatly together to form the whole and it reminded me of how a male and female can be united to be one entity. I imagined a young woman posing before her boyfriend’s camera, and not until the picture had been developed, do they notice something in the background suggesting the longing for a greater and deeper union.
